India's Challenge Ahead

After the revival (so called ) of cricket,due to match-fixing allegations hanging around the Indian's neck, it's time for some other tough going for the Indian Cricket team.The coming challenge for them is to play the mighty Aussies who will be here about a couple of weeks from now, we do have home advantage aginst this Australian side.But do we have the will,the capacity,the attitude & infact talent to beat them. I'm sorry for i feel negative about it.

It wont be easy for us to challenge the world beating,world record holding side with our lethargic and unexperienced players.As far as the prospect for tests are concerneed we can say we will prepare good spinning wickets for our spinners.But will it not hurt us instead , as they have the best legspinner (Shane Warne),upcomig Stuart Macgill and the quality offspinner Colin Miller.On the other hand we dont have Anil Kumble available for the series, while Joshi, Sharandeep Singh and Murali Karthik are not of the same grade.Now if we consider the pace attack they have� inform Glenn McGrath, fastest in workl Brett Lee,wicket taking Jason Gilllespie and co.Talking of the batting other than Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid we do not have any batsmen we can completely rely on.

�Let us now talk of the ODI's.They are the best attacks in the world (arguably ).They have quality batsmen in Bevan,Waugh Bros,Pointing,Martyn &quality allrounders as well like Gilchrist,Shane Lee, Adam Dale and Andrew Symonds.

We do have the exuberance of youth in our lineup.We do have guys like Zaheer Khan(easily our best find), Yuvraj singh (who has not really proved himself so far), S.S.Das (the only opener from india i have seen who plays comfortably on the back foot!!!), Hemang Badani(He is called Mr.cooool,i dunno how cool he will be when the aussies� come here), Kaif (?) and Reetinder� Sodhi. who have done reasonably well & we can expect them to raise the level of game when they face the Aussies.For Instance Zaheer and particlarly Yuvraj Singh have done well against Australia.Zaheer bowled well while Yuvraj scored an half century in the Mini world cup.Besides this series will also seen as the Tendulkar MacGrath war ties. When ever these two giants face each other there's something always happening for sure.Recently Sachin had� upperhand in the match in Mini World cup.But Macgrath will be coming from the series where he was the man of the series in Test matches.The other isssue for sure will be the ability of the indians to handle the spin attack led by Shane Warne.In the last series in India we were very successful as Sachin and Sidhu gave nightmares to Shane & also Azhar and Jadeja &Ganguly played him well too.But this time we do not have many of them.Besides guys like Yuvraj have had trouble handling spin.the only department which looks brighter for the Indians is to ability to play the pace bowling attack.We do have Sachin,Saurav,S.S.Das,Yuvraj &Dravid who are very good players of backfot & play the pace attack very well.We also do have decent pace attack with Srinath,,Prasad,Zaheer and Agarkar who have done well recently.We have decnt WK in Dahiya but can he ever match Gilchrist in keeping or batting.

Well,instead of talking about the prospects,to be practical,I'm sorry as I dont consider our team to be able to face the Australian attack very well..But if we do perform well, I will be the happiest man on the earth.
